The second joint call was a pilot call, set up under the SKEP ERA-Net. It had a total budget of €375K and was launched between 3 March 2008 - 11 April 2008. The theme was science into policy processes, with two specifc topics:

• evaluation of the uptake and impact of research projects and programmes by environmental policy-makers
• communication and dissemination of emerging scientific issues to environmental policy-makers

Funded projects:

• PSI - to propose guidelines for the evaluation of the implementation and uptake of environmental research, which will then be trialled and embedded into the management practices of SKEP network members
• LTS - an assessment of lessons learnt in the communication and dissemination of emerging scientific issues to environmental policy-makers
