The third joint call was the main call set up under the SKEP ERA-Net, building on the experiences gained from the first two pilot calls. The third joint call was launched on 12 June 2009 and closed on 13 July 2009. It had a total budget of €2.13million. The theme was the challenges and opportunities of emerging technologies for environmental regulation. It was structured according to three pillars, each considering a different strategic aspect of the impact of emerging technologies:
- reflecting the regulatory landscape
- sustainability of legal frameworks
- response management, including communication and public engagement
Proposals had to be supported by targeted case-studies which would assess the impacts of converging technologies in the following specific areas:
- case-study 1: environmental limits
- case-study 2: waste regulation
- case-study 3: environment and human health impacts
Further information about the call can be found in the call leaflet.
